1. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe and he desires a personal relationship with people (Genesis 1 & 2)
2. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of and punishment due all people. (John 1:1-3, 14, 18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
3. The Holy Spirit convinces the spiritually lost of their need for God. He also lives within the Christian, providing cleansing, power, wisdom, and spiritual gifting so that believers can live victorious lives and effectively share God’s grace with others. (John 16; Acts 15:8-9; I Corinthians 12:4-11)
4. People are made in the spiritual image of God and although we have tremendous potential for good, we are marred with a rebellious nature and disobedient acts toward God called sin. All of us are in need of God’s forgiveness and His power to bring redemptive change into our lives. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 2:1-3)
5. Heaven and hell are real places. Every person will spend eternity in one or the other. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:11-15)
6. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned through good works. However, salvation is not without conditions. It requires faith in Christ’s sacrificial death/resurrection and a repentant heart. In addition to forgiveness, Christ's sacrifice provides for the cleansing of our hearts. Our hearts can be fully devoted to Christ and free from sin's control. (Acts 17:30; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 2:8-9; I John 1:9; Matthew 5:8; Acts 15: 8-9)
7. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the complete, divinely inspired Word of God for all people in all cultures. The Bible is the supreme authority and guide for our Christian faith and for holy living. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12)
8. The Church must teach and apply the Bible to the cultural needs, questions, and issues facing people today. The Church must also be a safe place for all to investigate Christianity and grow spiritually. The Church’s scriptural mandate is to worship God, equip believers and reach out to the world with God’s love, grace, and power. (Matthew 22:37-39; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 4:11-16)
